My last days in Nova Scotia…

Yet another day trip to Halifax with my Mom — at least it wasn’t raining this time! While she was in her meetings, I took the opportunity to drop by the VenusEnvy store and picked up another bondage book, as well as another 60 feet of that beautiful black rope that I got last time.

We stopped in a small strip mall just the other side of the bridge in Dartmouth on our way back. Found a thrift shop and picked up a wonderful comfy little black leather jacket for under $15; one of the buttons fell off and is in the pocket, but I think I will be replacing them with all-black buttons anyway. It has cute leather cross-lacing detailing at the wrists and at the side slashes on the hips. Perfect for club hopping and such…

Also checked out the dollar store next to the thrift shop and found some great quality hardwood pingpong paddles (will be wonderful for spanking!), as well as some nice rubber-tipped clothespins with a lovely bite.

My Mom had to stop at the local coop credit union to do some banking, so I decided to pass the time in the “coop feed store” next door, looking for kinky stuff… Bingo, hit the jackpot! Found two delightful riding crops, one black and the other a nice burgundy red, for only $6 each! The same quality in an erotic boutique would easily run from $40-$60 each. Man I *so* love tack and riding shops for some of my toys — I can buy so much more for so little! I also picked up two rolls of nice bright red “vet wrap” for mummification purposes.

I can’t believe how many kinky goodies I’ve found on this trip… (giggles to herself)

The next day, before leaving to go back to Montreal, I went to check out my sister’s new antique shop in a nearby little village. It’s in a wonderful old historic two story building, dating from the 1880’s. It’s also next door to another antique shop, so it will help with generating new customers for her as well. She is supposed to open in a few days, so she was still gathering and pricing her items before opening day.

While walking through the shop, I discovered a beautiful antique top hat — something which I’ve been looking for on and off for quite a few years. I always hesitated to order a top hat over the net (especially an antique one) because it can be so hard to tell the quality, condition and how well it fits by only a few pictures.

So it was to my utter delight that I picked it up and put it on my head and found that it fit like it was custom made for me! Wow! My sister was amazed as it is a very small size and nobody who had tried it on over the years has ever fit it. (Apparently she’s had it for over 8 years, but I never knew about it.)

The top hat has maker’s marks from Paris and dates approximately to the 1870-1880’s, so it is around 125 years old. It is in excellent condition and even has the box in which it was imported to London England and then to Canada. It felt so right that it fell into my path and that it fit me so perfectly that I just *had* to buy it! I plan on adding a removable black veiling draping off the back to add a more feminine touch and to wear it to some of my future fetish events as it will go so well with my black leather corset and elbow length black velvet gloves.

Afterwards, my sister and I drove out to a very scenic rocky beach overlooking the north side of Cobequid Bay that she had wanted to share with me. It had a cute little lighthouse with a real house underneath it with a family that still lives in it. It was a spectacular view on a clear and sunny day with the tide coming back into the muddy tidal inlets and the rocky coastline. I had my digital camera with me and took some very nice photographs.

Picked up a few small rounded beach pebbles that “called” to me to bring them home with me. On the way back to the car, a large feather caught my eye at my feet. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that it was an eagle feather! I took it as a special sign that my father was watching over me and that he sent it to me as a reminder that he was always still nearby even though he was no longer living. (He passed away last February and I still miss him dearly.) I tucked it into my top hat box for safekeeping until I return home, to put with the hawk feather he sent me last year during my last trip back from Nova Scotia.

All in all, a nice way to end my visit to Nova Scotia on a positive note. I still had a long drive back but at least I was in a good mood…

    Hello Mistress Jade

Thank you for your kind welcome to ALT blog, and your thoughts on my subject of posting pictures of oneself.

I was surprised to read that buy your black rope from a store, in England what we do is buy the white rope and dye it black. And most of that is bought in a DIY store. Not only that with what they charge at the fetish fairs, it is a rip off in prices.

What did find at the LFF in England was a coffee table that had been converted into a rather wicked piece of equipment. so when friends or family come over, you can sit serve your parents, with a wicked smile on your face. I will try and find web site and post it to you.

    Kind regards

  2. I had already seen the same rope at a local hardware store in Montreal, but they were charging around $2.25 Cdn (approx. 1 GP per foot, and at Venus Envy it was only $1.00 Cdn (.65 euros) per foot, so it was quite a good saving. Besides, it is an excellent quality braided rope that I’ve even had a hard time finding in white.

Yes, one could dye large white rope, but I find it can be such a mess for dyeing large quantities that I would rather purchase it already black.

PS: I can only see a small version of your main pic of you on your ATL profile, but with that gorgeous leather jacket, you do remind me somewhat of “Spike” the brit vampire on Buffy the Vampire Slayer! My best friend Lady Katana and I have a definite “thing” for him…
