Blog Birthday — it’s been 14 years!!

14th Blog Anniversary

It’s hard to believe that it’s already been 14 years since I began the “Adventures of a HeadMistress” blog!

Many things have changed in the world, and happily, kink is a bit more “out there” compared to when this blog started. There are kink social networks, discussion groups, forums and such — and kink-related gatherings, conferences and conventions have gone more mainstream.

Real life gets busy and has it’s own distractions; but I hope I will still be writing my kink blog for many more years to come!

House For Sale With Dungeon Makes The News

So a house in Philadelphia went up for sale yesterday that included a private basement BDSM dungeon, complete with kink furniture and equipment, and has become known as “50 Shades of Maple Glen“.

Philadelphia House with private dungeon up for sale

The US$750,000 house was posted on sites such as Zillow & Redfin, popular online realtor listing services, and quickly became viral (because apparently these things totally fascinate the Vanillas), however the controversy had the dungeon photos removed from many online listings.

However, the realtor still has the entire set of photos on their own realtor listing:

To read the full Slate interview with the realtor who is handling the sale, and was the one to post the listing, have a look:

Annual Bisexuality Day – September 23rd

First observed in 1999, Bisexual Pride Day is observed every September 23rd by members of the bisexual community and their supporters.

This day is a call for the bisexual community, their friends and supporters to recognize and celebrate bisexual history, bisexual community and culture, and all the bisexual people in their lives.

This celebration of bisexuality in particular, as opposed to general LGBT events, was conceived as a response to the prejudice and marginalization of the bisexual persons by some in both the straight and greater LGBT communities.

Bisexual Pride Day is celebrated in the United States, Canada, Australia, as well as Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

The Bisexual Awareness Week, also known as BiWeek, is an annual celebration week held on September 19th to the 26th. The celebration promotes acceptance of the bisexual community as well as attempts to create a platform for advocating Bisexual rights
