A Quebec Long Weekend

Quebec’s provincial holiday, known as “La fête St-Jean” is quickly approaching and almost everyone is looking forward to a long holiday weekend.

I am looking forward to spending time with my beloved Partner, Oudjat — as work obligations meant that we missed out on time together last weekend. So I guess we’ll be trying to make up for it this weekend!

At least the weather isn’t looking so outrageously hot as it has been earlier this month. There’s a bit of cloud expected, and even the possibility of a thunderstorm on Sunday; but that won’t stop us from having fun.

We are also looking forward to attending Saturday’s BDSM play party at our favourite kinky home-away-from-home, the Club L’Espace dungeon — located in Montreal’s popular downtown Village area.

The Gay Village is currently in it’s summertime pedestrian mode, and is sporting it’s colourful decorative rainbow balls overhead.

A Weekend of Family Time & Kinky Time

An interesting weekend filled with both family obligations, and some kinky social time…

My partner Oudjat and I had the weekend to ourselves for a change, and spent the first part of it just chilling out, cuddling and taking it easy. Extremely relaxing!

On Saturday evening, we had a family obligation for a Birthday dinner, with a lovely home-cooked meal and topped it off with a magnificent 5 Layer Chocolate Mocha cake that Oudjat picked out at my favourite local Moroccan pastry shop in his neighbourhood.

After a quick turn-around to my place to freshen up, and pick up our kinky “toy bag” of goodies; we headed downtown to Club L’Espace, our favourite dungeon and kinky social zone. It was a delight to meet up with an old friend, my former submissive “g”, as we hadn’t seen in each other since last December and it was very enjoyable time chatting and catching up with each other.

We stayed at Club L’Espace until closing (after 4am) and headed back home as the morning sun was rising and the sleepy city was slowly coming back awake. I really love that quiet interlude between when the night’s noisy party-makers have already headed home, and Montreal’s early morning workers have yet to make an appearance. It’s a great time to take a nice walk in one of the many parks, or even a slow drive home through the almost-deserted city streets is that much more enjoyable.

I really love my city and it’s many facets!

Bad timing for a painful episode

migraine

So, last night my switch partner, Oudjat, and I were getting ready to go out for our regular Saturday night at Club L’Espace, our favourite Montreal fetish club and dungeon. The theme was “Black & Red” and we were looking forward to making our most suitable choices from within our respective kink wardrobe.

But first, I decided that it would be a good idea for me to have a light bite to eat; as it had been a while since I had ate anything and I knew I needed some fortification for the night’s activities. I already had a very light headache that had been affecting me for the past hour; but had already taken a few meds, trusting them to get rid of it shortly.

Unfortunately, not long after eating, I got a sudden wicked back ache and decided to lie down flat on my back in bed for a few minutes, with my knees bent, to help relax my back and to let the pain subside. (For those who are not familiar with my situation; I have old back and knee injuries that seriously affect my mobility at times.) I had just taken some Robaxacet about 10 minutes earlier, and figured that it would just take a few more minutes for it to take effect.

However, after about another 10 minutes, I felt a very strong wave of nausea sweep over me — it felt very strange and I was wondering if there had been something wrong with anything that had been in my steak & cheese sandwich.

The nausea did subside slightly but was replaced by an increase in pain of my headache and it started to throb on the left side and back of my skull — a sure sign of impending migraine for me. Unfortunately, it hit really quickly and soon had me in tears and clutching my skull from the intense pain.

Worst of all, I have a condition called “Hyperalgesia”, which is a hypersensitivity to pain. It is one of the reasons why I am so very careful of causing pain in others, even consensual pain — I need to satisfy myself that it is indeed what they want, because I myself have a hard time enduring it.

End result, I was in agony for several hours and it was finally only when I resorted to a much heavier painkiller that I was able to have a minor respite from the distinct feeling that resembled having a shovel smacked against my skull. Repeatedly. For hours.

When it finally eased off to more of a dull throb, I was so exhausted that I fell into a very restless sleep; because I still would get the occasional feeling of an icepick behind my left eyeball. I truly appreciate the tender care of my Sweetheart, who helped me with getting meds, ice packs, as well as some hot sweet Jasmine tea afterwards to help me relax.

Needless to say; we missed out on attending our evening at Club L’Espace — which is such a shame, because we always look forward to it so much.

Today (Sunday), I contacted my best friend (and fellow migraine sufferer) and asked if she happened to have gotten one too around the same time. Turns out that indeed she had, and was still suffering some of it’s effects into Sunday.

Now, I would never wish a migraine on *anyone* (they are that nasty), but somehow there is a small solace in knowing that it’s not just me. We’ve always believed that there is often an environmental factor that can trigger some of our migraines, such as sudden changes in barometric pressure caused by changing weather patterns. Knowing that we both get one at almost the exact time, despite being 20km apart gives strength to this theory.

The Training of a Young FemDomme

This past week, I have begun the training of a new young FemDomme, Lady Ruby Dragon. She has been close to my family for years and I’ve considered her part of my Leather family, even if she was not a blood relative.

She has recently turned 18 and is now legally an adult and can finally indulge in her BDSM and fetish interests.

Tonight will mark the beginning of her introduction into the local kink community; as we will be bringing her with us to her first playparty at our favourite Montreal area dungeon, Club L’Espace.

More news to come…
